About TinTop Artistry
One day, this corporate veteran was staring at his walls, and he wondered how he could fill the space. What could be unique enough to sit on those walls? What colours would work? What would give them character? Suddenly, Tin Top Artistry was born.
The idea was simple. To recycle and create unique art pieces.
At a very young age, I watched my brother paint cars. He taught me many tricks along his journey regarding his painting techniques and why he was so fastidious at what he did.
With this knowledge and ongoing curiosity, I decided to give painting a go for myself by trying so, on recycled barrel lids instead!
Tin Top Artistry is a local startup that prides itself on bringing people’s ideas to life and creating unique gifts.
Our business specialises in digitally designing and customizing your ideas, which are then printed onto recycled barrel lids.
This is one core feature of our business and one that we are proud of as it helps us reduce our environmental impact while also providing unique and customized gifts. By using upcycled barrel lids, we are able to deliver on our sustainability goals and prevent these lids from ending up in landfills.
The Process
We save used and unwanted 44-gallon drum lids
Any rust and old paint enamel is removed from the lids
We work with our customers to create custom designs
The surfaces are rejuvenated with a fresh coat (paint or print)
The Tin Top is then delivered to our satisfied customers
Sustainability Details
Tin Top Artistry plays their sustainable part through recycling and re-using otherwise thrown away barrel lids.
Each Tin Top weighs approximately 2kgs, the circumference is 600mm.
Our bulk purchase of the barrel lids (200 per order) prevent 400kgs of tin/metal from being buried in landfill.
The more we produce, the more we do our part to save the environment.
